Bideford Parsonage Museum is a hidden gem for admirers of Lucy Maud Montgomery and those interested in PEI’s cultural and literary heritage. The historic parsonage, where Montgomery boarded during her first teaching position, has been carefully restored to reflect life in a rural Island homestead in the late 19th century. Visitors are invited to look through the same windows Montgomery once did and experience the landscape that helped shape her early writing. Located near the village of Tyne Valley in Western PEI, the museum offers an intimate, off-the-beaten-path experience that provides deeper insight into the place and era that influenced Montgomery’s work.
