A New Definition of Home Exhibit by PEI Crafts Council
130 Queen Street (Confederation Centre Art Gallery), Charlottetown, PE C1A 4B3
Whether you are a new immigrant or your people have lived here for generations, we are all influenced by new places and new neighbours. Fine craft artists were asked to look closely at their artistic practice, observing how their traditional designs and early methods may have been changed by elements of other cultures, deliberately or subconsciously. This exhibit promises crafting traditions with a twist … a personal artistic expression of craft that has been influenced by culture whether new or traditional.
