Kensington Locomotive

62 Broadway Street North, Kensington, PE  C0B 1M0

Adjacent to the Kensington Railway Station, the Kensington Locomotive, known as Engine 1762, was relocated to Kensington in 1990 after the closure of PEI’s railway in 1989. Today the stately engine serves as a permanent reminder of the railway that once united the country, and of Kensington’s legacy as a town that grew and prospered as a result of the railroad. Please note that the locomotive is not open for tours and there are no staff to provide tours. Visitors are free to view this icon of the PEI rail at their leisure.
